We are currently partnered with a Real Estate Investment Firm that is looking for a litigation counsel to be the lead attorney to their multi-family operating platform. This individual will report directly to the General Counsel and be involved in the company’s strategy and overall growth in the space.
You will have the chance to work directly with various business groups on a variety of legal matters containing to the company’s Real Estate platform. You will be responsible for various litigation matters including dispute resolution, contract matters, consumer protection, fair housing and other applicable laws. You will have the ability to grow exponentially on a collaborative team that continues its growth across its diversified platform.
Responsibilities: Advise on all legal aspects and stages of pre-litigation dispute resolution, including advising on the merits of various business disputes and overall dispute resolution strategy, drafting and responding to demand letters, and negotiating settlements. Responsible for reviewing and updating property management agreements, property management policies, legal contracts with both national and local vendors. Provide oversight on the company’s pending litigation, including overseeing outside counsel, assisting with all aspects of the legal process, including discovery, document review, mediation, settlement negotiations and trial preparation as necessary.
Work closely with various business units to advise on property management best practices and requirements to comply with all applicable state and federal law, including but not limited to the areas of landlord/tenant, consumer protection, and fair housing Requirements: JD from a top tier law school 5-8 years of experience within private practice or in-house environment focusing on Litigation Experience in the Real Estate space & familiar with Fair Housing Act regulations a plus If you are interested in the Litigation Counsel position feel free to reach out with an updated copy of your resume.
