POSITION TITLE: Literacy Instructional Coach
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Literacy Instructional Coach will interface with classroom teachers, team leaders and administrators in support of the goals of the district and schools in regard to literacy instruction, standards and assessment.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary as determined by the Master Contract.
CLASSIFICATION: Fair Labor Standards Act Exempt
EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions in the current Master Agreement between the Colchester Education Association and the School Board. Evaluation will be completed according to the guidelines defined in the district's Differentiated Evaluation Process.
REPORTS TO: Director of Curriculum and Instruction
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Current VT teacher license with graduate coursework in literacy content and instructional pedagogy. Master's degree preferred.
2.Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
3.Extensive knowledge and experience working with literacy instruction, standards and assessment.
4.Excellent organizational skills.
5.Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Provide ongoing, embedded professional learning on literacy standards, and research and evidence-based instructional practices for literacy
2.Meet regularly with teachers, team leaders and administrators to support planning, instruction and assessment of literacy standards and CSD curriculum.
3.Work with the administrative team on implementing district and school goals.
4.Work with teachers on literacy assessment, data collection, and data analysis to plan instruction and needs-based support/intervention.
5.Work with teachers, team leaders and administrators on implementing multi-tiered systems of support.
6.Participate in grade level and content meetings related to standards, proficiencies, instruction, assessment, and multi-tiered systems of support.
7.Embed equity and equitable instructional practices into professional learning, coaching and instructional practices.
8.Embed social-emotional learning into professional learning, coaching and instructional practices.
9.Other duties as assigned by the Director of Curriculum.
