Program: Adult Education
Description:
Responsible for coordinating and delivering a comprehensive program focused on basic literacy and numeracy, English as a Second Language (ESL), and life skills to adult clients. Additionally, this role involves providing essential staff support to volunteer-driven, community-based adult literacy education programs. The Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in facilitating educational opportunities, fostering community engagement, and supporting the overall success of adult learners within the literacy council.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of three (3) years experience teaching adults required
Experience and ability to assess the reading levels of potential students
Ability to match students with tutors and appropriate reading materials
Knowledge of various literacy training methods
Experience in public speaking
Ability to represent the council through the media and at community-based and fundraising events
Must be proficient with MS Office products
Terms: Full-time, 260 days (12 months), 7 hours/day
Salary: Adult Ed pay scale - Minimum $19.64/hr with Bachelor's Degree, plus excellent benefits.
