Description:

Responsible for coordinating and delivering a comprehensive program focused on basic literacy and numeracy, English as a Second Language (ESL), and life skills to adult clients. Additionally, this role involves providing essential staff support to volunteer-driven, community-based adult literacy education programs. The Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in facilitating educational opportunities, fostering community engagement, and supporting the overall success of adult learners within the literacy council.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience teaching adults required

  • Experience and ability to assess the reading levels of potential students

  • Ability to match students with tutors and appropriate reading materials

  • Knowledge of various literacy training methods

  • Experience in public speaking

  • Ability to represent the council through the media and at community-based and fundraising events

  • Must be proficient with MS Office products

Terms: Full-time, 260 days (12 months), 7 hours/day

Salary: Adult Ed pay scale - Minimum $19.64/hr with Bachelor's Degree, plus excellent benefits.
