Description

SAIC is searching for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and self-driven individual, with a background in Linux & Windows System Administration. This individual will provide administration responsibilities to Linux and Windows desktop systems for an unclassified environment. Key responsibilities will include patching and security compliance requirements, as well as troubleshooting customer issues, while demonstrating excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; participate in customer projects to provide technical expertise in the area of system upgrades, improvements, adherence to security requirements and infrastructure improvements (installation, configuration, administration and troubleshooting centralized and distributed physical and virtual Windows and Linux operating systems); provide technical and operational knowledge to configure and maintain hardware, operating software, and business applications, while providing problem and incident support, including troubleshooting for continuous improvement and problem resolution; deliver stable and secure workstation system administration in a safe, agile, and innovative way to enable mission productivity and enhance positive end-user experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management of Information Systems, or relevant discipline OR 4 years or more of related experience in lieu of degree

  • US Citizen, DOE L Clearance Minimum to start, or DOD S, or TS, with Reciprocity

  • Ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance

  • Linux system administration experience for at least 1-3 years

  • Windows system administration experience for at least 1-3 years

  • System Administration skills for Linux & Windows Desktop Systems

  • End-User Application Support

  • System Setup

  • Account Management

  • File services

  • Network Configuration

  • Application Hosting

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with other IT professionals

  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in Virtual/Cloud Deployments

  • Developing scripts for automating services tasks

  • Server room management (e.g. - power, cooling, cabling, racking)
