This individual will be a Linux Systems Administrator supporting information system components, infrastructure integration and maintenance to satisfy architectural and business requirements in support of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) Aviation & Missile Center'sSystems Simulation, Software and Integration (S3I) Directorate. The candidate will also monitor network performance, security and troubleshoot problems as they occur.
The candidates for this position must possess, at a minimum, a United States SECRET level security clearance.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Remediate findings from SCAP scans to ensure configurations are in accordance with DISA STIGs
Update, configure, build and maintain systems and supporting infrastructure
Configure, maintain and periodically test system backups
Work with other engineers on requirements development, system architecture and system design
Record, troubleshoot and solve issues identified by users
Supports routine enterprise activities and tests associated with field and mission requirements
A bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, MIS or other related field or 6 - 10 years of information systems engineering and design is required.
Required Skills and Certifications:
Must have RHEL, Linux+ or associated client OS certification and Security+, CISSP or relevant certification
Experience with administration of Linux/Unix Operating Systems (RHEL, CENTOS)
Understanding of modern TCP/IP networking fundamentals for troubleshooting local area networks
Experience with patching and deploying software products and maintaining software compliance
Experience with deploying, managing and maintaining LDAP and BIND DNS Services
Experience with virtualization technology (VMWare)
Understanding of Information Assurance (IA) systems and practices: Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), STIGs, RMF
Experience with multifactor authentication or Active Directory integration in a Linux environment
Familiarity with Apache and other webserver components
Preferred (not critical) Skills and Certifications:
Experience with backup and disaster recovery technologies
Understanding of Network, System Integration and Test Environment (NSITE) software
Experience with Cisco routers, switches and firewalls
Experience with Microsoft server and client operating systems
Knowledgeable on use of NetScout and other network troubleshooting products
Understanding of Microsoft SQL and other SQL components
Familiarity with researching, evaluating and recommending products and services to improve capabilities
Experience with Splunk or other log analysis tools
Travel: This position may require that the individual be able to travel to support equipment installations, maintenance and operations at both Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside of the Continental United States (OCONUS) locations. Duration and amount of travel may vary but may be up to 10% spread throughout the year.
