As a Linux Systems Administrator with FM&T, you will perform and oversee a variety of Linux support functions to ensure IT infrastructure is available, reliable, and stable. You will apply advanced judgment and analysis over security, installation, and maintenance of software and hardware systems that are of high criticality to the business. You'll monitor systems and serves as a focal point for routine support of systems, and have responsibility to participate in strategic and tactical continuous improvement efforts.

Your role includes:

  • Responsible for expertise in the design, configuration, installation, security and ongoing support of Linux based systems

  • Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies to existing platforms based on current process and procedures

  • Install, configure, and maintain high availability of the environment

  • Implement and maintain disaster recovery methodologies and create documentation that follows industry best practices

  • Proactively identify opportunities to implement automation and monitoring solutions

  • Collaborate with technical peers at Honeywell Corporate and other sites within NSE in support of NNSA Mission

  • Ability to perform analysis of competing technologies and products.

  • Work closely and escalate issues directly with vendors to ensure that supporting operating systems are compliant with applications, including required patch levels, hot fixes, and revisions.

  • Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of associates, the public, and the environment. Take actions necessary to "stop" work when an unsafe condition, or action, is identified. Every employee has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Must possess U.S. Citizenship in order to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" level security clearance

  • Associate's degree in the field of Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technology field

  • Minimum of three years of combined professional experience in a Linux or enterprise backup and recovery administration role

WE VALUE

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science preferred

  • Linux and ITIL Certifications desired

  • Experienced with EMC, Veritas, or VMware product offerings

  • Advanced knowledge of Linux operating systems (RHEL), servers, scripting (PERL, Puppet, Python)

As a Systems Administrator II, you will act as a key member of the Windows Systems team ensuring Windows Server operating systems and VMware ESXi implementations are running effectively and efficiently. You will perform a variety of functions to ensure the Windows Systems environment is available, reliable, and stable. This includes the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and retirement of systems both physical and virtual. Support is routinely done for medium to large scale systems that are highly critical to our business. You will help plan for the future by setting direction and documenting direction for your specific area of responsibility for the information systems infrastructure. Summary of Duties: * Evaluate, customize and maintain systems including installing and testing new releases. * Monitor and evaluate operating efficiency, analyze performance and tuning. * Analyze system problems to identify problem areas. * Follow established procedures required for efficient management of the infrastructure. * Install new or enhanced applications and/or hardware; assist in the installation of servers. * Install, configure, manage, patch, troubleshoot, and upgrade VMware ESXi server infrastructure. * Resolve escalated service requests and support tickets related to Windows server and desktop environments. * Reviews, evaluates, and recommends new or upgraded systems software packages and related hardware, based on established standards. * Manages medium enterprise projects according to division standards and requirements. * Have broad technical knowledge of information systems and recommends solutions based on current infrastructure components. * Work closely and escalates issues directly with vendors to ensure that supporting operating systems are compliant with applications, including required patch levels, hot fixes, and revisions. * Other Duties as Assigned based on business needs. * Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of associates, the public, and the environment. You Must Have: * US citizenship in order to obtain and maintain US Dept of Energy "Q" level security clearance. * Three (3) or more years' experience in VMware ESXi server support and Windows Server administration. * Bachelor's degree in the field of Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering or Physical Science with a minimum of 24 semester hours of computer-related courses OR Two (2) additional years' professional work experience in systems administration.
