Linux Engineer
Industry leading financial technology company is seeking a Linux Engineer to join their global team based in Atlanta!
As the Linux Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining availability and high-performance of middleware and integration applications in mixed 24/7 non-production and production environments (UNIX and Windows development). This is a hands-on role where you will assist in the design, planning and implementation of integration solutions, select and implement automation tools, and perform root cause analysis of problems.
This position requires a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours support.

Required Skills
5+ years Linux experience (Red Hat flavours preferred)
Experience working in a low-latency, high-performance enterprise environment
SDLC process and tools
Horizontal and vertical scaling for performance and high availability
Advanced scripting
Automation tools
Ability to participate in weekly on-call support on a rotational basis

Bachelor's Degree
GIT, Puppet, etc
Perl, BPML, Ruby, Bourne, Python, PowerShell
Experience within the Financial industry

The team focuses on root cause analysis and develops tools to assist others in more efficiently managing systems operational tasks. Responsibilities include: * Evaluate new software solutions to streamline system provisioning, operations, error reporting and upgrades. * Monitor and identify potential security flaws and design an action plan or mitigation strategy to address potential areas of concern. * Architectural changes to the internal framework supporting customers is constantly evaluated and managed by this individual and their team. * Write tools to automate system tasks and administrative functions. * Troubleshoot escalated issues and identify the root cause of difficult issues, often involving a strong grasp of the full application framework and interoperability of numerous technologies. * Assess weaknesses in customer system support and identify solutions toward more proactive response in the future, such as better alert monitoring or improved documentation. * Collaborate with other teams in the company to design efficient solutions to meet their needs and streamline the Linux Architecture Team's processes * Perform periodic reviews on implemented processes, such as alert monitoring, to identify new mechanisms for improvement. Qualifications * A deep understanding of Linux Architecture and a strong background in application support are both necessary to ensure success. * Strong communication skills * RHCE, or equivalent knowledge * Knowledge in Ansible and Red Hat Satellite 6 are preferred * SEDC is an equal opportunity employer.
