A huge eCommerce leader in West Chester is looking to add a Linux Engineer to their team. My client offers a very exciting culture and is known for their growth and work / life balance. They can pay $95,000 - $115,000 for the right candidate.
My client needs someone who can take full responsibility for installation, configuration, and management of their Linux open systems, which include Red Hat, AIX, and Solaris. You need experience working with scripts and applications. My client needs a team player as you will be working with other teams to create new automation strategies and processes for deployment. Responsibilities The specific focus for the Site Reliability Engineer is on configuration, automation, and optimization of the development and production platform including: * Look for opportunities to create efficiency through automation. * Initiate and lead scripting & automation to streamline system updates & upgrades, to help support, operations and deployment teams * Make production deployments a routine event that any team member can do. * Actively contribute to our ability to measure quality of our software. * Measure and optimize the service; tune alerts, right-size capacity, identify availability, performance and security opportunities. * Maximize system uptime and availability by identifying Resiliency Gaps, ensuring functional & performance SLIs. * Come up with tactical & strategic solutions for Performance, Resiliency & Security issues * Design and execute War Games & Chaos Monkey in Pre-Prod/Production environment * Debug software at the code, configuration and infrastructure level * Solve complex problems for critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrences * Lead & participate in and encourage rood cause analysis, effectively implement identified preventive measures, use data to identify the scope and scale of impact * Oversee the continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) tool chain to ensure that the system code for high availability and product is reliably tested and predictably released. * Collaborate with DevOps engineering to improve, contribute to and evolve the platform * Stay up-to-date on relevant technologies, plug into user groups, understand trends and opportunities to ensure we are using the best possible techniques and tools Requirements * 5-8 years of relevant experience with at least 2 years of SRE experience * Experience in designing and optimizing Angular applications and Typescript * Software development experience in Java/C# with micro-service architecture and frameworks (Springcloud,.Net Core) * Expertise in software design patterns for effective reusability, performance and resiliency * Expertise in at least one version control tool(Git, TFS, SVN)-preferably Git * Expertise in industry standard CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GoCD, TeamCity, Azure Pipelines etc.)- preferably GoCD * Expertise in designing and troubleshooting large scale enterprise distributed systems * Experience in Production Debugging like Heap, Thread, Core, Process Dump analysis and Network Traffic Analysis * Experience with both public, private and hybrid cloud systems design, migration and maintenance * Experience with configuration management, deployment automation and container orchestration tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry) * Experience in monitoring & alerting using standard APM tools (AppDynamics) * Experience log parsing and monitoring using Splunk,ELK or any other custom solutions * Experience in Operating Systems; Windows, Linux * Scripting proficiency in PowerShell, bash or shell scripting * SQL and No-SQL DB experience * DevOps/Agile methodology experience * Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills * Networking and security experience preferred * Travel Required: " 10% Comcast is an EOE/Veterans/Disabled/LGBT employer Comcast West Chester PA
