Job Title: Linux Device Driver Engineer
Location: Austin, TEXAS
Position Type: Full time PERMANENT position

Job Duties:
Developing, enhancing, and maintaining sophisticated production-level device drivers.
Collaborating closely with various engineering teams to implement features and debug issues within the device driver.
Validating driver features for new hardware generations.


10+ Years of demonstrated software engineering experience
Experience with hardware programming
Excellent programming skills with demonstrated experience in C/C++
Strong problem solving, and debugging skills with a deep understanding of Operating Systems principles
Strong technical communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
Experience in device driver development, or equivalent close to hardware programming (embedded, operating system/kernel, etc.)
Experience with complex software systems and architectures
Experience writing clean, well-tested, maintainable code in an enterprise organization
Experience delivering production quality software engineering solutions on schedule
Working knowledge of device driver development in Linux and/or VMware ESX OS kernels
Knowledge of x86 CPU architecture
Experience with software performance analysis, optimization and low-level programming
Bachelors Degree (or greater) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar program with a focus on Software Engineering

As a device engineer, you will be responsible for optimization of transistor performance to maximize product yield and improve quality and reliability. You will either work on sustaining existing mature technology nodes, or on developing immature technology. A deep understanding of device physics and process is required for this position, plus basic knowledge in digital circuit design, test, reliability and design for manufacturing. Role and Responsibilities * Candidate needs to be able to serve as the Device Engineering Technical Lead for improving and sustaining parametric yield across multiple products. * Design/implement knobs for device performance and yield improvement. * Routine monitoring of device trends, and timely response to shifts or abnormality. * Support process or integration team with evaluation of device impact by process conversions. * Interact directly with Foundry customers regarding parametric yield / device performance issues. * Clearly communicate ideas or opinions thru written reports and oral presentations. * Candidate can be considered for team lead role in the future. * Shift: 1st-Monday through Friday 8am-5pm. Skills and Qualifications * Bachelors in Science or Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Chemical, Material Science, or related areas) required.
