Job Summary

Responsible for the final preparation of all food items served in food-service area in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures. May be directed by the kitchen supervisor, relief manager or team leader to ensure that quality service is provided at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides quality customer service by providing one-on-one attention to detail.

  • Participates in the preparation and service of food and beverage items in adherence to company food standards for presentation, sanitation and safety (meeting HACCP and OSHA guidelines) and portion control.

  • Cleans work area and equipment used in food preparation and service.

  • Follows all safety and sanitation procedures. Delivers food items to and from main kitchen.

  • Promotes clean, safe and neat environment for residents, self and staff.

  • Cooperates with staff of other departments in performing job duties.

  • Contributes to the team; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees and others.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

VIEW JOBS 3/25/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-23T00:00 GENERAL SUMMARY: Manages laboratory operations of the core Surgical Pathology Laboratory for the Henry Ford Health System with particular focus on the following sections: Surgical Pathology, Frozen Section, Histology, Immunohistology, Molecular, Electron Microscopy, and Autopsy. Ensures accrediting, regulatory, and customer service standards are met. Responsible for human resources, budget planning, supply chain, and information technology. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Under general direction from medical and administrative leaders, manages laboratory operations of the core Surgical Pathology Laboratory for the Henry Ford Health System to meet the needs of customers. Provides leadership to maintain focus on service standards, turnaround time, and quality. * Recruits, orients, and evaluates, staff including, technical staff and support staff. Ensures systems are in place and action is taken to assess competency, performance, provide training, coaching and development of talent, and corrective action as needed. * Prepares capital and operating budgets and monitors current period budgets to evaluate variances for remediation and communication of changes. * Oversees quality management, quality control, and customer service practices to meet accrediting and regulatory requirements and to further objectives of HFHS. Follows-up on customer service issues in a timely manner. * Plans and attends meetings to coordinate operations, improve quality, and plan services as needed. As a leader demonstrates the ability to anticipate customer needs and technical requirements. * Effectively communicates key information to staff, leadership, and key stakeholders, both internal and external to the department. Maintains effective working relationships within the health system and with outside service providers. * Participates in strategic plan and policy development while remaining informed on changes in technical practice and patient care needs. Develops and maintains professional skills and an awareness of peer group performance. * Manages supply orders and inventories to ensure adequate supplies and accurate vendor billing. May participate in product line teams to further standardization. * Prepares and maintains a summary of key performance indicators and significant metrics on core Surgical Pathology Laboratory operations. * Plans and manages the seamless installation, testing, and validation of new equipment, or software as needed, including attention to site preparation, training, and information technology. * Other duties as specified or required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: MINIMUM EDUCATION * Bachelor's of Science Degree MINIMUM EXPERIENCE * Six years in a CAP accredited anatomic pathology laboratory with progressive responsibility at the supervisory or technical leadership level. * Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills. * Demonstrates a contemporary level of technical and operating knowledge in the technical disciplines to be managed. Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS' Customer Service Policy and summarized below: * Communication * Ownership * Understanding * Motivation * Sensitivity * Excellence * Teamwork * Respect Must practice the customer skills as provided through on-going training and in-services.
