Position Overview

The Line of Business Pricing Manager- irrigation will oversee and drive the development and adoption of pricing disciplines, policies, and practices for assigned categories. This role will partner with the regional teams to execute pricing strategies and tactics as well as support the development of long-range plans for pricing that are consistent with category pricing and margin objectives.

This role will provide expertise in the development of pricing analytics, strategies, and processes to improve margin and revenue performance. The role will assume leadership within the category to ensure a consistent adoption of pricing principles and strategies across the regions. This role will have accountability to category margin and price improvement goals.

This role will report directly to the Vice President of Pricing. Additionally, the role will collaborate with the category leaders and other functional organizations within SiteOne to develop and implement pricing plans. This individual will be a skilled communicator, demonstrate strong analytical capabilities and be effective in promoting the value of the organizational and process changes within the pricing function. Change management, analytical and communication skills will be critical to facilitate the fundamental changes necessary for the pricing transformation to occur successfully.

KEY FACTORS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Develop and implement the category pricing roadmap, translate and apply the roadmap to regional and divisional pricing goals, strategies, and tactics. Work effectively across the organization with various functional groups to implement short- and long-term pricing plans.

  • Identify and develop short term tactical pricing opportunities and related solutions. Identify near term opportunities to improve the pricing process and enhance margin capture and efficiencies.

  • Lead the development, communication and execution of a long term pricing strategy, working cross-functionally with the category team, finance, sales, operations, marketing, and field teams.

  • Develop analytical models to support pricing initiatives, model alternative pricing and customer segmentation scenarios, and to maximize profit opportunities in order to achieve optimal financial performance.

  • Direct the utilization of pricing tools to track pricing performance versus sales and margin mix objectives.

  • Lead price performance review meetings with Senior Executives in Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Operations.

  • Develop and conduct the training and education of sales force on pricing program changes.

  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Skills We Are Seeking

  • Strong hands-on capabilities in analytics, strategy development, process implementation and price optimization.

  • Leadership Skills

  • The individual should have demonstrated significant initiative, tenacity, and leadership skills in prior roles. Individual must possess successful experience in leading cross functional teams on projects.
  • Communication skills
  • The individual must have advanced writing and communication skills, and be able to interact and persuade individuals at levels senior to him or her, as well as actively participate in meetings and group discussions with individuals from various functions of the organization (e.g. Sales, Finance, Marketing).
  • Significant interface skills with field sales team and in particular developing training programs and material to drive pricing improvement.

  • Proven skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities with a strong attention to detail and an ability to multi-task. Experience in project management a plus.

  • Proven analytical skills, as well as modeling and data analysis, statistical skills a plus. Experience in following is a plus: SPSS, SAS, SQL, and Power BI

  • Expert competency in Microsoft Excel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working in the field of irrigation required

  • Experience with the development of pricing roadmaps, and the ability to develop strategies for near-term and several years into the future. In addition to pricing, the individual should have a solid understanding of marketing principles.

  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience in business-to-business manufacturing, distribution, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience in pricing.
