Job Summary

Responsible for the design and implementation of base, short-term, and long-term incentive programs for specific businesses under the supervision of the Head of Compensation. Leads the design and implementation of incentive compensation plans that align with the strategy and risk appetite of the relevant business. May be responsible for compensation related infrastructure, including pay structure maintenance, year-end compensation cycle planning and preparation, market benchmarking tools, regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., minimum wage, salary inquiry ban), and other tools and resources for the broader Compensation Team.

Responsibilities

  • Engages and consults with Leaders and Executives, HR Directors, Finance Directors, Risk and other stakeholders to implement and manage compensation programs for assigned lines of business (LOBs). Partners with LOBs on annual compensation processes, job evaluations, and other projects. May prepare and assist with related communications. Seeks input from Head of Compensation on complex matters.

  • Proactively and autonomously manages components of enterprise level projects; defining scope and priorities. Researches and recommends contemporary compensation practices including partnering with consultants for relevant insights and market practices.

  • Leads the annual incentive compensation plan design process for relevant LOBs and ensures alignment to enterprise strategic initiatives. Partners with leaders, Risk, Finance, HR, and Legal. Ensures compliance with enterprise incentive governance, and alignment to compensation strategy across the bank through compensation leadership.

  • Manages, coaches and develops 1-2 analyst team members on both technical and consulting skills. Makes all relevant personnel decisions (hiring, performance management, compensation, etc.) with approval from Head of Compensation. May be first time people manager and developing leadership skills including people management, delegation and prioritization skills for self and direct reports.

  • Generates solutions and approaches beyond the standard practice. Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset and motivates the team to apply the same to all aspects of the work.

  • May be responsible for infrastructure support of the compensation function, including MarketPay for pay benchmarking surveys, grade structure maintenance and governance, year-end compensation cycle preparation (planning annual comp cycle calendar, partnering with IC administration, finance and HR Business partners developing training, communications, and manager materials)

  • Supports and partners on deliverables for the Sound Compensation Program, a regulatory program focused on balancing risk and reward in Key's approach to incentives compensation. This includes covered employee review, incentive compensation effectiveness, and the annual risk assessment of incentive plans.

  • Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice

  • Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key's clients and Key.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or related discipline. (required)

Experience Qualifications

  • 7+ years HR, Finance or related field with an analytical focus (required)

  • Skilled & experienced with building Microsoft Excel data analysis and graphs and executive level Microsoft Power Point presentations. Can coach other on analysis.
