A Line Cook is responsible for preparing food and ensuring kitchen operations run smoothly.

Basic Requirements

• Education: No formal education required, but a high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Experience: 0-1 years of kitchen experience.

Skills & Qualifications

• Culinary Knowledge:Basic understanding of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen equipment.
• Knife Skills: Ability to chop, slice, and dice efficiently and safely.
• Food Safety & Sanitation: Knowledge of health codes, temperature controls, and safe food handling (ServSafe certification)
• Speed & Efficiency: Must work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Teamwork & Communication: Ability to work well with chefs, servers, and fellow cooks.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long hours, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and work in a hot environment.
• Attention to Detail: Ensuring food presentation and taste meet restaurant standards.
• Multitasking: Managing multiple orders at once under pressure.

Preferred (But Not Always Required)

• Experience with specific cuisines or cooking methods (e.g., grilling, sautéing, baking).
• Certifications (ServSafe, HACCP) for food safety compliance.
