The Glenview at Pelican Bay is a premier continuing care retirement community located in beautiful, sunny Naples, Florida.

We are currently considering candidates for a hospitality focused Line Cook. Line Cook candidates must have a desire to join a great team dedicated to providing outstanding and superior hospitality. We currently have the following shifts available: PRN (as needed), need to be able to work weekends.

Line Cooks at The Glenview at Pelican Bay are responsible for the preparation of all food items as per standardized recipes.

Line Cooks will assist our clients with services including but not limited to:

  • Prepares all soups, stocks, sauces; boils, braises and roasts items as per planned menus and standardized recipes.

  • Prepares and serves all sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items as per planned menus and standardized recipes.

  • Prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders and in accordance with established portion control procedures.

  • Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food is preserved.

  • Inspect special diet trays to assure the correct diet is served to the resident.

  • Ensure safety regulations and precautions are followed at all times.

  • Complete daily and scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with cleaning schedule and established policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to understand measurements and conversions.

  • A minimum of three years experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution.

  • Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards.

  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet.
