We believe in using quality ingredients to make quality food, and we work with local farmers and use produce from our onsite garden to develop our menus. We like to work hard and have fun - and we need you!

YOUR ROLE: As a Line Cook, you are a vital part of our culinary operations. You get the opportunity to work with variety of unique products and ingredients that focus on seasonally and locally available items, many of which are grown onsite. You plan, prep, and execute dishes in a fun and fast-paced environment. You bring your diverse viewpoint to the team so we can respectfully celebrate different cultures and cuisines and ensure a variety of options for staff and guests. You share your skills with other cooks and chefs in the kitchen and you enjoy learning from your teammates, as well. You communicate with other colleagues in the kitchen for needs based on timing and readiness.

You interact with customers and make sure they have the best service possible. No more weekends or holidays - you will be working daytime hours, Monday

  • Friday, 7:00am

  • 3:30pm, with the ability to work with onsite culinary garden produce!

JOB OBJECTIVE: To maintain high standards of food quality and presentation while ensuring cleanliness and adherence to Promega Corporation's policies and procedures. This role contributes to the seamless execution of catered events, enhancing the overall dining experience for guests.

CORE DUTIES:

1.Food Preparation:

  • Assist with the preparation of various dishes for catered events, including appetizers, salads, sauces, and entrees.

  • Ensure food is prepared in accordance with Promega culinary standards, and items are labeled, dated, and organized with the correct event information.

2.Stock Management:

  • Ensure adequate stock of products for daily operations and special event needs.

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers as necessary.

3.Event Execution:

  • Work with catering team members to ensure seamless execution of events, including setup, service, and breakdown.

  • Provide evening coverage for corporate events as needed.

4.Café Support:

  • Provide coverage and assistance in the cafes as needed to maintain operations.

5.Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment.

6.Demonstrates inclusion through their own words and actions and is accountable for a safe workspace. Acts with kindness, curiosity and respect for others.

7.Embracing and being open to incorporating Promega's 6 Emotional & Social Intelligence (ESI) core principles in daily work.

8.Understands and complies with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

1.High School diploma or proven work experience that ensures you are ready to be successful in this role.

2.5+ years of experience in culinary work/kitchens.

3.Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with guests and team members.

4.Good time management and problem-solving skills.

5.Strong numerical aptitude for managing inventories and recipes.

6.Good reading and comprehension skills.

7.Dexterity to operate kitchen machinery and knife skills.

8.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

9.Maintain appearance according to Promega and professional standards.



  1. Working knowledge of local seasonal foods.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1.Certification in culinary arts or related field.

2.Experience in catering or large-scale event food preparation.

3.Familiarity with modern culinary techniques and trends.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1.Ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time.

2.Ability to move efficiently between buildings on our campus.

3.Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

4.Ability to drive on behalf of the organization and hold a valid driver's license.
