Responsibilities

A successful line cook ensures all food is prepared and presented in accordance with appropriate recipes and presentation on a consistent basis. As a line cook you should be able to provide consistent safe and sanitary food storage, preparation and cooking. Monitor and control maintenance/sanitation of the kitchen and equipment. As a line cook you are expected to recognize and follow quality standards for meats, vegetables, fruits, dairy products and grains, including proper storage of these items. Effective utilization of leftovers and control of waste. The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to take direction. Line cooks should be able to work with others as a team player in a small confined space.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.

• Culinary degree preferred or equivalent experience.

• Plus 3 years cooking experience working in high volume restaurant

• Open availability to work Day, Swing or Graveyard.

• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

• MUST BE 21 YEARS OLD.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a current California gambling establishment employee permit, badge or license.

• Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.

• Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test and criminal background.

• This position requires active CALIFORNIA FOOD HANDLERS Certification and/or Card.
