We are looking for a LIMS Technical Delivery Manager in 401 N Michigan Ave, Suite 1400, Chicago, IL 60611 USA. Your mission will be to:

Purpose (Objective):

The LIMS Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) provides leadership to the Laboratory Operations Information Technology solution delivery team through planning, development, implementation, and support of Merieux NA LIMS implementations and other laboratory connectivity, automation, interfacing, and reporting applications/solutions. The incumbent will lead a highly skilled team of Information Technology application development resources, both external and internal, to meet external customer and internal business partner's needs and improve the efficiency and quality of laboratory operations.

Main activities:

Managing the team of IT professionals that support laboratory and other internal business processes.

Acts as the Product Owner of all LIMS implemented in NA laboratories and ancillary applications including Labware, Labvantage, AWS application servers, etc.

Acts as a solution architect with internal LIMS and cross-functional IT teams, designing and developing sustainable solutions.

TDM is responsible for working with developers to estimate the work, track developer assignments and milestones, address development issues and risks, and represent the development team in project status meetings. The incumbent will use an agile methodology to build and manage sprints and velocity.

Manages data analysts and ETL developers related to NA interfacing and data lineage between systems utilizing Dell Boomi, AWS Quicksight, and other similar tools

Supports initiatives around data analytics, data visualizations, business intelligence, reporting, EDI, and automation solutions for NA region with a focus on Lab Operational efficiency reporting.

Lead discussions with other Global IT teams on projects and initiatives that relate to LIMS data.

Conducting technical and business-facing portfolio alignment reviews of projects and enhancement requests.

Managing Merieux NutriSciences LIMS environments including patching, monitoring, and other activities that will maintain the integrity and uptime requirements for the company.

Manage the analysis of service requests, system enhancements, and projects by designing solutions that meet corporate objectives; coordinate elaboration of system design following an Agile methodology.

Analyzing workflow by partnering with key members of IT and the Business to support ongoing business requirements.

Working closely with project delivery teams (including Application Support, Release Management and Release Delivery, Infrastructure and Cloud Partners) to ensure successful code release to business validated testing environments and production.

Build, motivate and challenge a talented team of IT professionals to support the Lab Operations.

Administer corporate Human Resource programs relating to employee recruitment and retention, compensation, training and development, equal employment opportunity, performance appraisal, and employment record documentation for employees engaged in system application, LIMS implementation and other technical support activities.

Supports leadership in budget planning, contract review, M&A activities, and roadmap planning.

Perform other duties as needed.

Communication:

Internal Interlocutors: Provides Technical management, leadership, and support to the internal network.

External Interlocutors: Works with 3rd party vendors to support and enhance our LIMS and Lab Operations systems.

YOUR PROFILE

Knowledge:

Profile: Bachelor degree in Computer Science. 5+ years of proven IT software development team management experience within a LIMS environment is required.

Required skills: This position requires a broad knowledge of software application development and support typically obtained through education or extensive experience.

At least five years of management or supervisory experience or working in a leadership role is necessary to provide proper guidance to the department. Incumbent needs strong planning skills to effectively think through projects and anticipate problems to ensure smooth implementation and completion of projects and service requests. Excellent communication skills are necessary to provide or obtain information with technical and non-technical individuals in a manner that is easily understood.

Strong customer service skills are necessary to ensure that the department is meeting customer needs. Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills are essential to effectively prevent issues and to effectively work through difficult problems quickly as they arise, utilizing the most efficient means. Hands-on lead developer experience in a LIMS environment is necessary.

Management (Size and characteristics of the team(s)): This position supervises employees that are involved in the implementation of LIMS programs across Merieux NA. The staff this position supervises is engaged in system application, LIMS implementation, data integration and providing technical support activities for all NA company locations.

The nature of the supervision includes assigning work, conducting performance reviews, recruiting new staff, training staff, and promoting staff. Direct reports up to 6 employees based both locally in Chicago Corporate and remote staff.

Work Environment: This position primarily works in an office environment in which surroundings are usually comfortable.

The usual work hours are 40 hours a week. Some work, including technical support, can be done from remote locations.

This position may spend long periods of time in front of a computer terminal.

Physical dexterity is necessary to effectively manipulate a keyboard. The incumbent can expect extended time spent in a sitting position. This position may experience some stress as a result of trying to meet clients' demands that may be on a tight schedule.

This position may be required to travel occasionally up to 8 nights a month with domestic and international travel to complete projects. Physical dexterity is necessary to effectively manipulate a keyboard. The incumbent can expect extended time spent in a sitting position.
