About the role:

The Junior Developer (REMOTE) will be responsible to provide programming support for LIMS modules and functionality as well as assist in the development of new LIMS features, help desk support and training for LIMS users, programming support and development for electronic data deliverables (EDDs), support for LIMS maintenance operations, and some network support for network peripherals and other hardware. To perform this job successfully, an individual must perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Assist in implementing best practices as relates to the use of automated testing tools and processes;

  • Implement robust Web APIs based on the .NET platform developed in C#;

  • Development of dynamic web applications, making use of modern JavaScript frameworks;

  • Work closely with developers to improve LIMS functionality.

  • Troubleshoot LIMS issues.

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Participate in and support HSE initiatives, as required by ALS leadership.

  • Understand and use HSE precautions (such as but not limited to fume hoods and PPE) while working with chemicals and samples of unknown hazards.

  • Ensure the health and safety of staff, contractors, and/or visitors by providing appropriate leadership, due diligence, resources, training, and enforcement for all individuals onsite.

  • Monitor and enforce the health, safety and environment policies, procedures and ensure compliance with the relevant regulations.

  • Actively promote awareness of these policies, procedures, and regulations amongst company personnel.

  • Actively support and participate in all OHS initiatives. Lead by example.

  • Report all personal injuries and incidents and assist with investigations as per company policy.

  • Ensure the company sites adhere to all environmental requirements as determined by government legislation, regulation, and company policy.

  • Play an active role in the ALS safety program by correcting or reporting unsafe acts and conditions that are observed during the day-to-day operations to create a zero-injury work environment.

  • Follow all company operating procedures, standards, policies, and training to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the site.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in software development.

  • Proficient with .net (C#), SQL, Typescript, and Azure

Physical Demands:

  • The ability to stand for intervals of up to 8 hours while working;

  • Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with co-workers and managers;

  • Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate equipment and handle glassware;

  • Must have average vision and able to see to read reports and operate equipment;

  • Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone;
