Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Limited Xray Technologist performs radiological functions under the supervision of a physician within the scope of the practice and according to established policies and procedures of the clinic and organization. Delivers age-appropriate care in a friendly, respectful and timely manner. Ensures the quality control of imaging equipment and exercises the utmost care in radiation safety of patients, visitors and co-workers.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification:

• Current CA Limited Xray Technician (LXRT) Permit required; includes chest, extremities and torso - skeletal.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including equipment, body mechanics and proper positioning of patients.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Computerized and Digital Imaging for Radiography Professionals if using digital imaging equipment is required.

• Demonstrated literacy with computers.

• Ability to communicate effectively and work compatibly with physicians and other staff members.

• Demonstrated ability to work and remain calm under stressful conditions.
