Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

Serving over 250 music majors and 1600 non-majors, the Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music is a dynamic community of learners within the College of the Arts at KSU, the 3rd largest public university in the University System of Georgia.

The Bailey School of Music offers undergraduate degrees in performance (instrumental, vocal, and jazz), music theory, composition, and music education, as well as a music minor. Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, full-time, non-tenure track, Limited Term Instructor of Music Theory faculty position in the Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music with a preferred start date of August 2024. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching music theory, aural skills, and other related coursework based on the candidate's strengths and academic needs of the Bailey School of Music at the undergraduate level.

  • Additional responsibilities may include recruiting and other university service.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • An earned master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in music is required.

  • Experience teaching music theory and aural skills coursework is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
