Lift/ Pump Station Mechanic

Position Summary

Perform routine and skilled work on large municipal pump stations. Requires advanced mechanical and electrical experience. Position may have direct contact with Wind River Environmental customers. License a plus but not required. Advanced mechanical and (3) phase electrical work experience, either learned through schooling or through work experience. Licensing or certifications not required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and exercise safe work practices in accordance with WRE and DOT requirements.

• Drive company vehicle to or between customer sites to perform job responsibilities.

• Inspect, operate, repair and maintain pump stations and its mechanical and electrical components.

• Prepare for each service job to maximize efficiency (get truck ready, tools, etc.) by following daily pre-trip and post-trip maintenance (check fluids, tires, supplies)

• Perform customer service interaction when on work site to ensure customer satisfaction

• Observe and note defective component systems, adverse buildup or hazards on the work order and provide any recommend maintenance or service to customer

• Completion and submission of quote and service paperwork to management in a timely manner, if required

• Respond to trouble/emergency calls in a timely manner

• Follow all Wind River Environmental service protocols Other duties as assigned by management

Work Environment

• You are regularly exposed outside weather conditions and non-hazardous fumes

• Must be comfortable working independently and interacting with customers

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Advanced mechanical and (3) phase electrical work experience, either learned through schooling or through work experience. Licensing or certifications not required.

• Ability to read and interpret documents including Company policies and procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, maps and road signs.

• Ability to speak, cooperate and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and management.

• Ability to work independently and manage pressure to meet deadlines.

• Basic computer literacy including email and internet skills.

• Ability to perform basic math functions.

Required Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

• At least 21 years of age

• Ability to successfully pass DOT drug screen and background check

• Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace

• Must be able to meet physical demands evaluation
