Gunstock Mountain Resort in Gilford, NH is looking for an energetic and safety-oriented supervisor to join our Lift Operations team. Located in the heart of the Winnipesaukee Lakes Region, Gunstock Mountain Resort has been creating memorable outdoor adventures for guests of all ages since 1937. As the Lift Operations Supervisor, you will work directly with the Lift Operations Department Manager to ensure all aerial chairlifts, surface lifts, and Mountain Coaster are operated in an efficient and safe manner, and in full compliance with resort and state regulations. Ensure resort guest service standards are upheld by creating a welcoming, engaging, and professional environment for guests and employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise the efforts of 90+ seasonal Lift Operations staff and assist the Department Manager with the daily operation of Gunstocks Lift Services functions including, but not limited to:
Hire, train, and supervise 100+ seasonal Lift Services personnel and coordinate daily staffing and scheduling to meet fluctuating business needs.
Provide clear and direct feedback to employees to address guest service, safety, performance or conduct issues; notify Department Manager of recommended corrective action as needed.
Coordinate and conduct in-service training for Lift Services personnel and maintain accurate records of employee certifications and trainings.
Maintain accurate documentation of daily Lift and Mountain Coaster Operations Logs and communicate all maintenance issues to Lift Maintenance Manager in a timely manner.
Support the coordination of lift maintenance and inspections and work directly with Lift Maintenance personnel to ensure the safe operation of all resort lifts.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
High school diploma or equivalency, plus a minimum of two years of experience in resort operations or hospitality required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Prior supervisory experience preferred but not required
Basic working knowledge of mechanical, structural and electrical principles pertaining to the operation and maintenance of lift systems
Ability to act as a problem solver and leader in emergency situations and handle all situations courteously and efficiently
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 60% of the time; constantly able to operate control switches, hand tools, vehicles, and equipment used for general lift and coaster operations. The employee is frequently required to move about the resort to access aerial and surface lifts, as well as the Mountain Coaster; occasionally positions self to operate lifts and coaster. Regularly required to ascend/descend stairs to access lift and coaster controls. Required to move lift and coaster operations equipment and materials weighing up to 10lbs regularly, and up to 25lbs occasionally. The employee is constantly required to visually inspect, detect, and assess work areas, equipment, tools, and lift/coaster components.
During peak operational periods Gunstock is open to the public 7 days/week with weekends being our busiest times. While we offer alternative flexible scheduling, this position does require night, weekend and holiday availability (excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas Day).
