POSITION SUMMARY The Lift Operations Manager is responsible for working with the Lift Operations Director and Assistant Director to reach established goals ins employee engagement, providing superior guest service, safe and efficient operation of the lifts, and financial success. Responsibilities include hiring and training for the lift operations department, overseeing and the day-to-day operations, ensuing compliance and detailed record keeping of company and state polices and regulations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Assist guests and co-workers in a positive, helpful, and courteous manner Responsible for helping the lift operations department develop and goals, including superior guest service, safe and efficient operation of the lifts, and employee safety Provide immediate oversight and coaching of supervisors, leads, and operators to help maximize performance and success Hire and train lift operators for the winter season, including Interviewing, reference checks, onboarding, and department orientation Responsible for training; supervisors, leads, operators, and developing training materials: Handbooks, guidelines, lift training, safety meetings, service excellence, etc Review timekeeping correcting and recording missed punches ensuring supervisors and employees understand time keeping system and break / lunch policies Oversee the completion of schedules and schedule change forms for employees Assist in preparing and monitoring expense, and labor budgets Responsible for department / employee communication through verbal, email, beekeeper, bulletin boards, and digital displays, etc Be a representative for the department and participate in service excellence, service excellence trail, safety committee, and first aid training Monitor guest survey results, implement ways to improve and respond to comments Participate in employee engagement, understand EES, and motivate employees Take a lead in organizing activities that support a fun and desired workplace environment Manage Lift Operations / employee records protecting confidential / sensitive information and ensuing timely completion of training documentation, log sheets, lift incidents, employee records, etc Coach and provide feedback on employee performance, evaluations, attendance, recognition and document accordingly Assist with supervision and coverage at the lifts and ticket checking as needed Develop strong working relationships with other departments Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements Other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Previous ski area experience required Steamboat Lift Operations experience preferred Labor and expense budget management experience preferred, but not required Outgoing personality and ability to deal well with people Strong leadership and time management skills Can work independently with minimum supervision Detail oriented and high level of organizational skills Prioritize and recognize urgent situations, ability to deal with stressful situations Strong communication skills ability to train, coach, discipline, and praise Deal with conflict resolution with both employees and guests Computer experience, proficient typing, and familiar with Microsoft office products Be able to operate various hand tools, snow blowers, snowmobiles, etc. Must be able to work unscheduled hours, days, nights, weekends Must have a valid driver's license and be able to meet insurability standards Be willing and able to attain a Colorado class C CDL Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, coworkers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp Service Excellence standards.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or GED equivalent The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on a range of factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation total compensation package for employees.

Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives. Steamboat area base salary range: $62,400 - $73,200 per year PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate clearly in the English Language Must sit & stand for long periods of time Must negotiate stairs and occasionally carry boxes of supplies Be able to lift and carry up to 30lbs. Be able Ski / Snowboard at an intermediate to advanced level Must be able to climb and work above ground at heights Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions Must be able to shovel, rake, scoop, sweep snow and perform the twisting motion required to load a chair Must be a minimum of 18 years of age The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
