The Peer Mentor will assist in mentoring Lifelink Bridge students and provide support with recruiting potential Lifelink Bridge students.
Reports To: Program Director, BRONX LIFELINK
Location: 2471 Morris Avenue, Bronx, New York 10468
Hours: Up to 18 Hours/Week; Non-Exempt
Meet with Bridge students to discuss and provide guidance with transitioning into college.
Assist in recruiting events which may include visiting GSS high school programs to speak to potential students.
Help with presenting social/academic workshops for Bridge students.
Shadow Lifelink Tutors to learn effective ways of providing academic support to students.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Current college student in good academic standing.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must demonstrate reliable and consistent work habits.
Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective.
