Overview

The Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining a safe pool environment for all members and guests and promptly and appropriately responding to any emergencies in or around the pool. The Lifeguard reports to the General Manager.

Create the TSI Environment

Models the core attributes of a successful employee with the utmost integrity, lives the mission and empowers others to do the same; focused on building meaningful relationships with members, their kids and team members.

Responsibilities include:

  • Modeling and promoting the Clubhouse Rules.

  • Adhering to all TSI policies and procedures including, but not limited to timeliness, codes of conduct, dress and timekeeping.

  • Enforce pool policies and standards of safe conduct for all members and guests.

Build a High Performing Team

Actively facilitates self and team member development; constantly seeking new ways to build skills and competency; elevates the brand experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting the pool area for hazardous conditions and take appropriate steps to eliminate risks, including keeping pool area free of clutter and eliminating tripping/slipping hazards.

  • Testing and recording chemical readings every two hours (every hour in the Maryland and DC clubs) in accordance with TSI Code. Report any abnormal readings and partner with club mgmt team to rectify.

  • Recognizing emergencies and responding effectively, completing any necessary incident and/or accident reports.

Achieve Measurable Results

Meets and exceeds company goals and metrics surrounding employees and members; never satisfied with the status quo.

Responsibilities include:

  • Attending in-service trainings to maintain lifeguard skills and practice emergency action plans.

  • When there is no one in the pool, clean the pool area, including vacuuming the pool and cleaning the deck, windows, waterline and equipment.

  • Ensuring all necessary equipment, including first aid supplies, is present in the pool area and notifying the General Manager if additional supplies or equipment are required.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

  • Lifeguarding certified.

  • CPR/AED for the Processional Rescuer or Health Care Provider certified.

  • Prior lifeguard experience preferred.

VIEW JOBS 3/15/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-13T00:00 * Model and promote mission, values and guiding principles of TSI * Provide effective operational guidance to club team to successfully execute company programs to achieve a competitive advantage (ie: The Ten Essentials) * Responsible for supporting the successful operation of the club * Create a positive, team-oriented work environment by motivating and inspiring associates to achieve their best and continue to serve as a role model for others * Create opportunities to grow member count through high quality interactions and programs designed to drive overall member engagement * Support GM with building and developing high performing teams focused on delivering a legendary quality member experience while creating an environment of trust, mutual respect and genuine concern for individual growth and development * Support GM to ensure club is staffed with high level talent by recruiting, training retaining and developing team of lifeguards and assistant PM's as needed. * Support GM with managing day to day performance of all club team members providing timely, consistent and action oriented feedback that supports TSI's mission, value and guiding principles and delivering behavioral change for desired results * Recognize emergencies and respond effectively, completing necessary incident/accident reports * Enforce facility policies, rules and regulations * Inspect pool on a daily schedule, insuring safety and cleanliness * Ensure all team members who work with the pool are properly trained on operations procedure and safety routines * Ensure the club is OHSA compliant including the securing of pool chemicals, the use of proper safety equipment and the posting of necessary notices Additional Responsibilities (responsibility for more than one pool up to 4): * Travel to each assigned location once a week at minimum * Work a 5 hr shift as a lifeguard at each site bi-weekly. * Monitor that all pool chemical testing is being completed and recorded every 2 hours * Monitor and correct for any pool chemical imbalances – proper levels must be maintained at all times for safety * Maintain daily schedule of pool lifeguards, and set up system for absence coverage * Monitor that all lifeguards have current certifications and are in uniform at all times * Provide daily feedback and reporting to the Regional Pool Manager * Set up schedule for cleaning, shocking, etc. Work with the Regional Pool Manager * Schedule on site meetings with lifeguards and the Regional Pool Manager * Complete all required daily, weekly and monthly reporting * Follow up on all established action plans and timelines * Proactively communicate with the CSM,GM if no CSM and OD, as necessary, regarding any major concerns about pool operations Requirements Must be Lifeguard certified, CPO certified and AED/CPR certified.
