To Manage & train all lifeguards for North Beach Park. Schedule shifts, work out chair rotation, and update all training logs and accompanying daily work logs. Must have good customer service skills. Must be able to enforce Park rules. Must be willing to work weekends as well as holidays. Must have been a Certified Lifeguard for at least 4 years to be considered.

To be considered for this role, you MUST attach copies of your Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certification

Union Affiliation: Non-Union

Pay Grade: $19.65 Hourly

  • Keep & update training logs

  • Run weekly training

  • Maintain equipment

  • Create inventory list weekly or as needed for supplies

  • Maintain incident reports

  • Provide guidance as necessary to subordinates.

  • Schedule Lifeguards to cover all shifts

  • Good customer service skills

  • Ability to actively support City diversity, equity, and cultural competency efforts within stated job responsibilities and work effectively across diverse cultures and constituencies.

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion as evidenced by ongoing trainings and professional development.

  • Must have a valid driver's license. Operation of a City vehicle or personal vehicle to conduct City business without providing proof of a valid driver's license to Human Resources will not be permitted. A valid driver's license shall be defined as a current state of residence-issued license to operate a motor vehicle on public roadways. Position also requires the ability to be covered under the City's vehicle insurance policy prior to operation of any City vehicles or non-City vehicles for City business.

  • Must be a Current Red Cross certified lifeguard or have proof of a certification date before the start of the season.

  • Need to be a Qualified Lifeguard for at least 4 years.

  • Must have or be able to obtain a lifeguard manager certification from Red Cross.

  • Should be able to certify other guards.
