The Lifeguard role is dedicated to providing quality service that exceeds Guest and Member expectations. The Lifeguard works to create guests for life, by proactively embracing the service standards, adhering to safety regulations and gaining the knowledge to assist guests with any and all needs.
Maintains continuous observation of pool, deck, and surrounding areas to ensure apparent safety hazards are reported and corrected promptly.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts as immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patron's events of emergency.
Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain a high standard of customer service.
Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility. This includes, but is not limited to the pool decking and locker room areas.
Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports and daily log of events.
Handles or refers other problems and situations as they arise within the facility to the Manager.
Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
Ability to work both independently and in team procedures.
Attend department meetings as scheduled along with department staff
Efficient organization of work areas.
Ensuring that all opening and closing duties are completed, e.g. locking area, turning off equipment and lights, etc
Must have certification through USA Lifeguard training course.
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Previous lifeguard experience highly preferred.
