Recreation & Wellness
Responsible for the supervision and operations of the pool and pool area during operating hours. The lifeguard will ensure the safety of patrons in and around the pool area.
Open facility and greet patrons upon their arrival, to include notifying the on-duty Facility Manager to unlock the pool.
Enforce facility rules and regulations regarding the safe and proper use of the pool, deck and diving boards. Oversee activities in and around the pool at all times.
Serve as a first responder in the event of an emergency.
Complete facility participation reports.
Secure the facility upon closing, to include notifying the on-duty Facility Manager to lock the pool.
Administer facility evaluations.
Attend and participate in departmental employee training programs.
Current Lifeguard/First Aid certification
Current CPR/AED certification
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Some High School
Previous experience lifeguarding is preferred
Part-time, temporary, non-exempt position
Hours may be scheduled from 6:00 AM - midnight, Monday-Sunday on an as-needed basis
Peak periods are summer and during break/holidays
This position works less than 1,000 hours per year
