Salary: $16.00 per hour

The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking part-time Lifeguards to supervise the activities of swimmers in our pool area. Candidates may apply to work for the Center for Corporate & Community Education (CCED) or the Athletics Department, or both. Applying to this posting will make you eligible for both opportunities.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

• Ensure the safety of swimmers by enforcing the pool rules and regulations, preventing accidents and responding timely to emergency situations

• Present professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain a high standard of customer service

• Communicate with other lifeguards, water safety instructors and supervisors

• Substitute for other staff members as needed

The hours for this position will be dependent on the availability of the applicant. Daytime, evening and weekend shifts are available.

Qualifications:

• Current Lifeguard and CPR/AED certifications at the time of application

• Availability to work during the week (mornings and evenings) as well as weekends if necessary

• Effective communication skills and the ability to engage positively with the public

• Self-motivated with the ability to work without constant supervision

• Willingness to assist with swim lessons should the need arise
