Position Overview
You won't quite be a Sherlock Holmes, but you'll be close. For this career, you'll be evaluating life and health risks to make the best decision for our company, our agents, and our insureds. If you're a problem-solver who can piece together clues into a comprehensive story, this position might be your calling.
A Few Essential Job Functions
Just like a private investigator, you'll delve into data to help make new business and pricing decisions based on medical records, examination and laboratory findings, financial information, driving records, criminal records, tax implication laws, hazardous sports information, and other miscellaneous findings.
You'll develop regular communication with agents and field representatives to discuss decisions and pending cases.
Discovering information about new products, new laws that impact underwriting, and new medical conditions and treatments will be a central focus.
Attending local underwriting meetings and field meetings to gather data and insights will be required.
Presenting new products and procedures to agents at field meetings will help everyone stay on the same page.
There will also be some special projects regarding new products, new insurance regulations, or other studies to review.
You'll manage workflows for our agent/broker business.
We won't leave you hanging. When needed, your underwriting manager will be available to discuss unusual or difficult cases.
You'll review reinstatement requests for life and health insurance and pass judgment on their eligibility.
Processing requests for benefit increases on life and health insurance will also be one of your duties.
And the ever popular, "other duties as assigned."
