Purpose Statement:

The Life Sciences Technology Manager will be the technical leader of Plexus' drive to develop Life Sciences business and execute industry-leading Life Sciences programs for global customers. In this role, the Life Sciences Technology Manager will be an integral member of the Life Sciences Engineering and Sector Management teams, working with Plexus management, business development, and product development engineering to achieve significant gains in Life Sciences business and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Contribute to the definition of the strategy for the Life Sciences business, including internal initiatives and external activities focusing on the technology and life sciences specific elements.

  • Guide customers with concepts and technology selection along with development of regulatory strategy, and aid Plexus' product development engineering services and manufacturing to comprehensively understand client's needs.

  • Assist internal teams in the creation of compelling and customer-aligned project proposals.

  • Understand Life Sciences market needs and trends for the development of the comprehensive internal projects and programs, including staffing and capital expenditure needs. Support the execution of internal projects.

  • Contribute to promotional and branding efforts in the Life Sciences space. Contribute to the identification and leveraging of Life Sciences subject matter knowledge in the organization.

Additional Accountabilities:

  • Product Development experience in molecular diagnostic equipment and/or instruments, and thorough understanding of the supply chain and related costs.

  • Understanding of general technical and specific engineering issues related to the Life Sciences market, especially as they relate to instrumentation development.

  • Familiarity with systems development with considerations for optics, fluidics, thermodynamics, and/or human factors

  • Comfortable with common molecular biology concepts and laboratory parlance, able to facilitate communication between product development engineering and scientific customers.

  • Proven skills in customer and internal communication of complex technical concepts.

  • High level abilities to collaborate, influence teams, mentor others, and build relationships.

  • Worked with/developed/understands common molecular biology workflows.

  • Understanding of / working knowledge of disposables / interfacing to disposables.

  • Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 820, cGMP.

  • Advanced Decision Making & Problem Solving.

  • Additional duties as assigned.


Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a(n) Bachelors degree is required; a(n) Bachelors in technical science or engineering field and PhD in Engineering or Science is preferred
  • 5 years of related experience is required;

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.

Work Environment:

  • The work setting should consist of an office environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a low noise level.

TIMS provides the information technology environment and infrastructure to support critical administrative and audit functions through software and applications support, service desk, network support, and system and server administration. This position will not manage people but servers only. The primary purpose of this position is outlined below: * Administer and maintain Windows Server Domain and system, full Active Directory services, Tier 2 and 3 support for Windows client side and back end environments * Experience with Active Directory administration including creating and managing Group Policy Objects and logon scripts * Experience with setting up security for folders using Active Directory on Windows Servers * Install, configure and maintain the organizations Windows Server infrastructure * Experience with Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor Virtualization AHV; Configure and troubleshoot networking technologies within a Hyper converge failover cluster environment * Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Domain Name System (DNS) experience * Managing and maintaining VDI environments * Maintaining a secure, high availability computing environment * Configure, install and maintain system hardware and software in Windows 2008 and 2016 * Administer Barracuda Spam Filtering solution * Maintaining server event logging systems and closely monitor server systems * 5 to 6 Years of Experience in Client Server Environment specially in Microsoft Windows Servers * Experience with Windows Enterprise Server Operating system and Server Administration * Experience with ODBC Configuration and security for ODBC Connections * Experience with setting up security for User Access/User Profiles on Windows Server Environment * Experience deploying and maintaining enterprise virtual desktop infrastructure environments. * Patching servers both software and firmware * Configuring and maintain monitor and alerting solution; Respond to server alerts and remediate any issue * Developing and updating operating procedures for system administration activities including system monitoring, performance tuning, backup/recovery, server architecture, and system maintenance * Basic networking skills * Responding to both automated and client-based tickets, resolving to customer satisfaction within SLA * Application monitoring and troubleshooting * Capacity planning and documentation * Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills * Configure and maintain backup and disaster recovery * Understanding of NIST standardization and risk mitigation Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies * Demonstrated and comprehensive experience in Active Directory, Windows server administration (2008 and 2016), SFTP, Microsoft Exchange, virtual Environments, firewalls, PowerShell Scripts, and VoIP, and identity and access management. * Demonstrated experience in storage management, data management, data backup, data archive, data recovery, and local and wide area network problem trouble shooting. * Knowledgeable of mainframe and networking. * Experience working with users to resolve service issues; experience dealing with vendors and selection and contracting for services. * Strong communication and written skill. * Customer service background with a wide range of technical resources. * Position reports to the Chief Information Officer.
