The Life Sciences Technology Manager will be the technical leader of Plexus' drive to develop Life Sciences business and execute industry-leading Life Sciences programs for global customers. In this role, the Life Sciences Technology Manager will be an integral member of the Life Sciences Engineering and Sector Management teams, working with Plexus management, business development, and product development engineering to achieve significant gains in Life Sciences business and high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Job Accountabilities:
Contribute to the definition of the strategy for the Life Sciences business, including internal initiatives and external activities focusing on the technology and life sciences specific elements.
Guide customers with concepts and technology selection along with development of regulatory strategy, and aid Plexus' product development engineering services and manufacturing to comprehensively understand client's needs.
Assist internal teams in the creation of compelling and customer-aligned project proposals.
Understand Life Sciences market needs and trends for the development of the comprehensive internal projects and programs, including staffing and capital expenditure needs. Support the execution of internal projects.
Contribute to promotional and branding efforts in the Life Sciences space. Contribute to the identification and leveraging of Life Sciences subject matter knowledge in the organization.
Product Development experience in molecular diagnostic equipment and/or instruments, and thorough understanding of the supply chain and related costs.
Understanding of general technical and specific engineering issues related to the Life Sciences market, especially as they relate to instrumentation development.
Familiarity with systems development with considerations for optics, fluidics, thermodynamics, and/or human factors
Comfortable with common molecular biology concepts and laboratory parlance, able to facilitate communication between product development engineering and scientific customers.
Proven skills in customer and internal communication of complex technical concepts.
High level abilities to collaborate, influence teams, mentor others, and build relationships.
Worked with/developed/understands common molecular biology workflows.
Understanding of / working knowledge of disposables / interfacing to disposables.
Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 820, cGMP.
Advanced Decision Making & Problem Solving.
Additional duties as assigned.
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.
The work setting should consist of an office environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a low noise level.
