POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for coordinating, directing, planning and conducting the life enrichment and resident
activity programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Valid commercial Class B driver's license (CDL) as required by local, state and federal law and
regulations. Must be able to meet insurance qualifications to operate company vehicles including
passenger vans and bus. Previous experience transporting residents preferred. One or more years of
direct programming experience with older adults is preferred.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred majoring in Recreation, Music, or
Occupational Therapy with two or more years of direct programming experience with older adults
preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position may have supervisory responsibilities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to communicate effectively, in English, both verbal and written with personnel at all levels of
the organization, with residents and their families, and with members of the community. Ability to
read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and
procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to maintain basic financial records of expenditures of the department. Able to understand
budgets. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to accurately assess, trouble-shoot, and problem-solve to meet the needs of the buildings staff,
develop training for staffing needs, and evaluate results. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions
furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Works directly with residents in an Assisted Living Community. Potential for exposure to blood and
bodily fluids.
