The Independent Living Life Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for working with the Life Enrichment Team in all aspects of planning and facilitating activities and events primarily for Independent Living Residents at Westminster Village. The Independent Living Life Enrichment Coordinator will be actively involved with Residents and focus on Resident satisfaction. The Independent Living Life Enrichment Coordinator will plan, lead, and facilitate activities, programs, and wellness/fitness events for residents at the Village.
Qualifications
Education, High School Diploma. Preference given to a candidate with a BA in recreation or other field related to care of seniors
Has experience in working alone and in developing events/programs
Dedication to senior population and their unique needs and concerns
Capable of sensitive and effective communication both verbally and in writing to professionals, residents and families, entertainers, educators, and staff members
Ability to manage multiple objectives and tasks
Has demonstrated creativity relative to event planning and communication
Physical Requirements
Must be able to move, stand, bend, and lift throughout the work day
Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and occasionally hostile residents, family members, employees, and visitors
May be required to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, or materials minimum fifty (50) pounds infrequently
