Duties & Responsibilities

This is a mid-level position that will proactively engage in technical integration and requirements management teams that plan and execute Program life cycle reviews while concentrating on advanced planning and execution for dedicated payload processing and integration reviews for NASAs Exploration Ground Systems Program at KSC.

Skills
10-15 years of experience with a BS degree, years of experience can substitute for a MS degree Lead the assigned integrated EGS Life Cycle Reviews (LCRs), Operational Readiness Reviews (ORRs), and Pre-Flight Readiness Review (FRR) planning and execution activities Actively support and occasionally lead various working groups, Technical Integration Meetings (TIMs), review boards and forums for the EGS program focusing on integration of technical requirements, requirement compliance and performance data associated with requirements verification Develop and manage Generic EGS Program Launch Site Support Plans Develop and manage EGS Program Payload Integration Plan Assist with planning and coordination of cross program and agency events associated with payload customer needs. Coordinate Launch Site Integration Reviews (LSIRs) in support of the LSIM. Support development of internal communication data products per Payload Baseball Cards (BBC) Communicate and coordinate activities with NASA customers, contract management, and supporting stakeholders. Facilitate the implementation of the expectations and performance standards as set by the EGS Program Integration Branch Chief. Human Systems Integration (HSI) Co-Lead for EGS Program responsible for backing up the HSI team lead for the EGS Program. This includes but is not limited to tracking and oversight of the Human Factors Engineering Assessments and working with the various organizaitons within NASA / EGS in order to ensure Human Factors Assessments are performed on critical systems, issues are identified and mitigated to maintain the safety of the crew.

Education

Minimum education: Bachelors Degree

Preferred Education: Masters Degree

Project controls provides the tools and systems necessary to effectively and proactively manage, control, and report on cost and schedule for concurrent projects throughout the organization. Essential Responsibilities: 1) Services include planning, cost and schedule (work breakdown structure) metrics and tools, collecting performance data (installed quantities, expended labor hours, and other progress measurements for direct hire and subcontract work), tracking data (daily cost compilation and monitoring), analyzing (earned value, productivity and risk analysis), and reporting. 2) Identifies and tracks all changes or potential changes to the project scope, ensuring estimates of cost changes and schedule impact are given visibility with the client and project management. 3) Integrates cost and schedule data and reporting with the Company's accounting and management information systems to facilitate meeting LASSO performance and financial goals. 4) May also be involved in change control management, and critical path method network analysis. 5) Creates and assists with cost/schedule baseline budgets. Assists with the creation of baseline budgets and updated forecasts. 6) Develops knowledge of accounting principles. 7) Assists in assembling data for trending and forecasting. 8) Prepares analysis of progress trends and cost impact. May participate in reviewing and approving contractor invoices. 9) Collects and analyzes data on manpower, labor hour, and labor cost requirements versus budget limitations. Collects and analyzes data for tracking actual cost to funding limitations. 10) Assists in tracking purchase orders and subcontract commitments and expenditures. 11) Supports the project reporting process as required. 12) Participates in project cost review meetings. 13) Gathers data for procedure development. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. Minimum Requirements Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, project management, business or related field, or demonstrated equivalent related experience and 5 years of experience in engineering, procurement and research in a cost control position. Possesses the ability to develop, implement and maintain effective cost control programs. Must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
