Overview

Join us at Embark at our short-term residential treatment facility in Independence, Missouri where our team of therapists, academic staff, and life coaches offer treatment, guidance, and support to teenagers who are struggling with their mental health. This includes multi-modal family system approaches to amplify and solidify healthy change for the individual, as well as with their family.

We are looking for life coaches! At Embark Independence, our life coaches work directly with the residents to provide safety in day-to-day campus life, as well as to encourage residents in their daily treatment goals. In addition to this, our life coaches collaborate with our licensed therapists and academic staff to facilitate success for our residents in our community-based care setting. Life Coach available shift/schedule is as follows:

• Our Evening Shift Life Coaches work 4 shifts and each shift is 10 hours.

• Evening shifts are 12:30 pm - 10:30 pm

• Available Schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday)

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Providing safety and oversight utilizing Embark's unique therapeutic program. You will also develop competencies in administering medications and restraint techniques. (Training emphasizes de-escalation rather than restraint.)

• Demonstrating competency with the CASA developmental framework to implement care with our residents. This helps our residents to internalize love and acceptance during their treatment.

• Initiating, facilitating, and leading activities for recreation and service that are designed to help students develop healthy coping mechanisms, learn new interests, develop empathy, and stronger interpersonal skills.

• Working alongside teens as they do chores, activities and special projects to build responsibility and integrity.

• Provide feedback representing the residential team in treatment team meetings where residence, school and therapists plan treatment goals and interventions.

• Conducting daily documentation of residents' progression through treatment.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Must be 21 years of age.

• Experience working with teens is highly preferred.

• A college degree and/or experience working with teens is preferred but not required.

• Must have a love for people, particularly teenagers, and empathy for the trauma and mental health/behavioral challenges that they are currently facing.

• A willingness to develop your leadership skills and an initiative to develop relationships with many new people.

• Must be able to pass a Drug Test and Missouri state background check.

• Competitive Pay - starting at $18/hour with the opportunity to get a raise within the first year through our Mastery Program (additional $1.50/hour after 1 year, 2nd year - bonus plus an hourly increase).
