Profile Summary:

Voya Financial is looking to add a Life Claims Consultant to their downtown Minneapolis office. This person will review complex claims and/or related situations and must use discretion in decision-making ranging from contract interpretation to benefit amounts to be paid.

Profile Description:

  • Review complex claims and/or situations and make informed decisions that may requirement judgment by providing direction on life, disability, access risk, or critical illness claims

  • Responsible for providing direction, developing, training, and mentoring less experienced claims staff, including completing audits and providing feedback

  • Manage claim suspense accounts that will ensure accurate claim processing, appropriate financial reporting, and controls

  • Assist in developing and implementing improvement processes

  • Refer cases to legal and/or may represent company in legal matters surrounding claims decisions

  • Participate and/or facilitate various department and/or company project and special initiatives

  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience [Minimum 5-7 years claims or insurance experience]

  • Knowledge of industry related claim systems and practices

  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
