Job Overview
Under the direction of the Licensing Manager or Licensing Supervisor, this position is responsible for filing and submitting gaming license applications with various commercial and tribal gaming authorities in the US and globally.
Responsibilities
Prepare, manage and submit applications to various tribal and commercial gaming authorities in a timely manner while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Act as a liaison to gaming authorities, tribes, gaming regulators and outside counsel as may be necessary; respond to requests from gaming authorities in a courteous and professional manner.
Monitor license issuance and ensure regulatory compliance.
Engage in various methods of research, both internal and external, related to regulatory compliance.
Respond to and coordinate complex document requests and requests for production in connection with application investigations in a timely manner adhering to deadlines and regulatory rules and procedures.
Maintain, monitor and update licensing/compliance procedures in all jurisdictions and communicate jurisdictional requirements with gaming authorities; communicate changes/updates to regulations to other team members within the licensing compliance department and management.
Manage database and other means of tracking for Company, executive, and staff licensing.
Provide consistent and thorough follow-up with employees and gaming authorities.
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding employee information and Company activities.
Assist with special projects as assigned.
Provide general administrative and clerical support as assigned.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills/Requirements
Associates Degree plus and paralegal certificate or degree from ABA accredited program preferred; or equivalent work experience
1 or more years' experience with gaming company or 1 or more years' experience in legal/law field preferred
Background in finance or accounting preferred
Notary Public preferred, must be willing to become a Notary Public at Company's expense
Thorough understanding of legal terminology
Must have comprehensive understanding of gaming regulations and Indian Compacts and Indian Gaming regulations.
Must have in-depth knowledge and advanced proficiency with 1) Microsoft Office including: Word, Excel, and Outlook; 2) Adobe Professional Document Software
Must have excellent organizational skills; excellent phone and customer service skills and ability to cold call new regulatory jurisdictions
Must be able to work with a sense of urgency
Aptitude for problem solving and finding alternative solutions
Strong attention to detail, accuracy and excellent proof-reading skills
Strong Internet and court research skills
Ability to work independently but within a team environment and be accountable for work and work product
Ability to multi-task, monitor and meet regulatory deadlines, ensuring accuracy while managing multiple projects and prioritizing work load
Must exhibit excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written
Able to become proficient in ArdentSky and other internal software/system programs or applications
Ability to maintain database, extract, query and prepare reports
Effective and consistent communication methods and interpersonal skills in order to interact with all levels of management, employees, and gaming authorities.
MS office suite: Excel, Word, Outlook
