We are looking for an experienced licensing profession to join us at our Headquarters near the Riverfront in Wilmington, Delaware. In this position the Licensing Director will ensure that all Navient Corporation subsidiaries and affiliates are properly licensed as required pursuant to federal and state laws and regulations. This includes consumer financial, loan brokerage, mortgage loan, mortgage servicing, student loan servicing, debt collection, and collection agency licenses; all branch, manager and individual loan originator and collector licensing; and all business license or bonding requirements. The Licensing Director will monitor and maintain all licenses and licensing procedures in accordance with contractual, federal and state regulations and will work closely with Legal and Compliance to conduct research ensuring current licensing requirements are followed and all Navient licenses are kept up-to-date as business activities, entities, products and services, marketing channels, and personnel change. The Licensing Director will manage Navient's licensing service provider and supervise all communication gathering required from Navient's executive management in order for Navient to obtain and maintain the loan origination, loan servicing, debt collection and other licenses required to achieve Navient's business objectives.

The Licensing Director will be responsible for:

  • Documenting existing licenses

  • Consolidating all licensing functions across the company

  • Maintaining existing licenses

  • Obtaining new licenses

  • Research license requirements

  • Coordinate all business lines and support areas licensing information


Bachelor's Degree in BusinessAdministration

Ten (10) years' experience managing the consumer financial and debt collection licensing responsibilities of a financial institution.

Familiarity with licensing vendors and the software platforms associated with licensing work including NMLS, Cornerstone, McGlinchey Stafford, Nationwide Licensing, Miratech, Blue print, WoltersKluwer, Corpratek, Entity Keeper, CSC or Corporate Share.

Addition experience:

  • Experience working with corporate legal, compliance and business and support area personnel.

  • Familiarity working with outside counsel and the processes required to maintain attorney client privilege.

  • Experience managing or working in a federal or state licensing agency.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint, etc.).

  • Must possess strong writing skills

  • Must possess interpersonal and communication skills

  • Must possess strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Strong knowledge of PC based programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Strong focus on attention to details

  • May require a U.S.A. security clearance, or the ability to obtain one. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens. In addition, applicants who accept a conditional offer of employment may be subject to government and other state and local agencies security investigations
