Our Licensing and IP Department helps to ensure that commercially relevant new technologies are made available to industry, maximizing the benefit to the Nation. That's when we need you!

Our Licensing and IP Department's is seeking a Licensing Manager to be responsible for executing incoming and outgoing licenses and other agreements and would be responsible for ensuring consistency in methodology and approach across the company's various transactional objectives.

The work is located in our McLean, VA office and will have a hybrid work schedule.

The successful candidate will have recent and relevant experience with respect to the below and be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and executing agreements for copyright transfers, licenses to print/publish/use MITRE copyrighted materials for the purposes of publishing, conferences, presentations, and other similar endeavors.

  • Drafting and negotiating terms for the company's license agreements

  • Drafting and negotiating terms for the company's technology commercialization transactions

  • Ensuring that agreements are properly entered into respective data repositories

  • Creation and distribution of license revenue allocation memos

  • Creating efficient workflow in the negotiation, review, and processing of transactions where MITRE seeks to acquire technology provided under license, as well as where MITRE seeks to commercialize its technology through licensing arrangements.

  • Providing general contract drafting, negotiation and review, as needed.

What do you need to perform the job successfully?

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience plus a minimum of 8 years' experience in technology licensing.

  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating advantageous and effective license terms for the company

  • Ability to work with teams, discern, analyze and apply information relevant to the contemplated licensing transaction

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with a mix of licensee and licensor transactions is preferred.
