The Licensing Financial Manager oversees all financial activities related to royalty and licensing agreements, ensuring timely payments, and compliance with GAAP and IFRS. This role involves collaborating with various departments, leading royalty audits, managing sales forecasts, partnering with accounting to reconcile related balance sheet accounts, and assisting with ERP system projects. The manager also develops monthly reporting dashboards and partners with key business stakeholders.

Essential Job Functions

  • Review, determine, and execute appropriate accounting and calculations for all royalty and licensing agreements as well as preparing and submitting associated monthly and quarterly internal and external deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the accounting department to review, analyze, and reconcile general ledger activity and account balances relating to royalty and licensing activity in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Reconcile existing contract payments to GL.
  • Perform reviews of relevant financial statement results and other operational reporting relating to royalties and licensing.
  • Monitor payments of royalties and collections of licensing royalties to ensure accurate and timely settlement per contractual agreements
  • Lead and coordinate the royalty audit processes; Partner with auditors and local accountants to complete data gathering, testing procedures, and audit result reporting.
  • Collaborate with accounting to monitor and research relevant changes in both GAAP and IFRS: Partner with leadership to evaluate new business activities that could or should result in changes to transactions and/or accounting policies.
  • Collaborate with key business partners including FCP/Merchandise Accounting, Licensing Director, FP&A, Legal, External Auditors, and IT royalty and licensing-related matters.
  • Manage and analyze yearly sales forecasts.
  • Assist with ERP system testing and implementation projects as scheduled.
  • Responsible for and includes the opportunity to lead projects related to royalty and licensing, including developing a monthly reporting dashboard to be shared with leadership.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in corporate or public accounting.
  • Experience with royalty and licensing accounting preferred.
  • Experience in a larger company environment with exposure to licensing agreements and large data sets.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and major ERP software applications required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a variety of team members in various departments along with a positive, customer service approach to accounting services.
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task in a busy working environment and the ability to meet all regulatory deadlines.

International Touring Personnel
