Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care. The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care.


• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.

• Performs focused interview to identify specific patient needs.

• Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition.

• Collects, analyzes and interprets data and information from health care members and documents actual and/or potential nursing diagnoses.

• Other Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) duties as assigned.


• Active Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensure in the state in which the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) practices.

• Full command, verbal and written, of the English language.

• Current Health Certificate (per facility).

• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.

• One year prior Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) experience preferred.

• Current CPR and BLS card.

Responsibilities Registered Nurse Routine functions include: * Performs routine nursing duties including, but not limited to * client assessment, development and revision of Plans of Care, implements nursing procedures, evaluates client progress, accurate, timely, and complete documentation of client care. * Notifies physician and Clinical Director of any changes in client's condition or any unusual symptoms. * Performs the following nursing procedures where training, and the state Nurse Practice Act permits, including but not limited to: * Medication administration per physician orders. * Nursing procedures per physician orders and agency policy and procedure.Administering blood and blood products. * Obtaining laboratory specimens. * Starting IV's and administration of IV medications. * Inserting and irrigating NG tubes and Foley catheters. * Administering respiratory medications. * Changing dressings (sterile or clean). * Supervising nursing and other health care staff members. Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Routine Functions include: * Performs routine nursing duties including but not limited to: * Assistance with ADL's and IADL's. * Client and caregiver health instruction. * Notifies the Registered Nurse or Clinical Director of any changes in client's condition. * Performs the following where training or demonstrated skills and the state nurse practice act permits: * Inserting and irrigating tubes and Foley catheters. * Administering oxygen by mask or cannula. * Ventilator, Tracheostomy care and suctioning endotracheally. * Supervision of aides and other health care team members. Qualifications * Current LVN or RN licensure with the State Board of Nursing in the State of California * One year experience as an LVN/ RN in the last three years in a supervised setting * Current CPR card accredited by the American Heart Association * Proof of current Physical within the past year * Copy of updated TB results/Chest x-rays within the past year * Successful completion of the skills assessment specific to the areas of experience including any specialty areas. #CB1 Nursecore Santa Barbara CA
