LVN- Licensed Vocational Nurse

Purpose of this position:

The purpose of this position is to supervise, provide and coordinate nursing care in compliance with Community policies and procedures and to assess residents' care needs and take appropriate action

Responsibilities:

  • Take appropriate action to assure adequate staffing to provide resident care.

  • Participate in coaching/discipline, hiring and termination decisions of direct care staff.

  • Supervise and assess resident care and take appropriate action.

  • Implement Community procedures to provide resident care.

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must have a current and valid LVN nursing license or a current and valid LVN license from a Compact Party State. The LVN may continue to practice under the former home state license and multistate licensure privilege during the processing of the nurse's licensure application in the new home state for a period not to exceed thirty days.

  • Experience in Long Term Care or Skilled Nursing a Plus. Healthcare experience is a must

  • Performing daily activities with an attitude of humility.

  • Approaching each patient and coworker as if they were part of your family.

  • Giving the highest quality of care possible and treating everyone with respect.

Laredo Medical Center's (LMC) Nursing Administration is now hiring a full-time Bed control specialist to work our fast paced nursing administration office at LMC's 326 bed acute care hospital. The department in the main campus of Laredo Medical Center. This position report directly to the Director of Nursing Administration. The Hospital is located in sunny Laredo, Texas, just 150 miles south of historic San Antonio. Skype or other Virtual Interviewing Processes (VIP) is available for out-of-town applicants. Read a full position description below. Coordinates the flow of patients through the facility. Assigns patients to beds based on bed availability, care needed, and patient type. Arranges for patient transfers or admission as needed. May act as a liaison with scheduling to ensure adequate levels of staff on duty. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. At least 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area, and state license as a registered LVN. IT experience required.
