This position administers nursing care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties such as:

  • Medication Management

  • Milieu Management

  • Direct Patient Care for patients with a wide variety of psychiatric and medical conditions

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nursing program required

Credentials: Current Licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse with the State of California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians

Experience: Clinical experience in a psychiatric setting preferred

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Interacts positively with patients on a daily basis.

  • Capable of adapting to varying workloads and work assignments on a constant basis.

  • Works successfully under highly stressful conditions.

  • Makes sound, independent judgments based on Scientific and/or Ethical principles.

  • Collaborates with other multidisciplinary team members in an appropriate fashion.

  • Utilizes effective comprehensive reading skills, strong communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Utilizes math skills to calculate medication dosages.
