JOB SUMMARY The Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care for patients under supervision of the physician or APP.# Assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care.# Functions as primary liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.

#s Degree in Nursing Minimum Work Experience One-year License Vocational Nurse experience# Required Licenses/Certifications Current state vocational nurse license# Current CPR certificate# Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology; familiarity with health care systems, regulations, policies, and functions; understanding of documentation standards# Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and materials needed for medical treatment; understanding of basic laboratory procedures including preparation and screening# Knowledge of infectious disease management and control and safety standards# Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality# Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records# Knowledge of management and organizational theory to supervise the business practices including principles of employee development to train, delegate, and mentor staff; knowledge of medications and other pharmacological agents used in a clinic setting# Knowledge in diseases and disease processes# Skill in appropriate assessment and assistance techniques# Skill in appropriate use of universal precautions, safe workplace, and confidentiality methods# Skill in health information management by appropriately charting patient data# Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff# Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations# Ability to appropriately interact with patients, families, staff, and others# Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands
