Licensed Veterinary Technician

• Duties:

• Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals

• Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, wound care, and dental cleanings

• Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians

• Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and treatments

• Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures

• Perform laboratory tests and analyze samples

• Take X-rays

• Clean and maintain examination rooms, equipment, and instruments

• Provide compassionate care to animals and their owners

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in veterinary technology required

• Certification as a veterinary technician is a plus

• Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital is highly desirable

• Knowledge of animal care and handling techniques

• Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols

• Proficiency in performing animal catheterization, including IV catheter placement

• Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely and confidently

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to work well in a team environment
