Central Animal Hospital is seeking a Full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician or License Eligible Technician to join our team! * $4000 Sign-On Bonus for qualified individuals
7pm) alternating Saturdays (8am

Central Animal Hospital is an AAHA accredited, busy 8 doctor practice. We see mostly dogs and cats but we also see some pocket pets, wild life and the occasional goat or sheep.

Our team culture is focused on team work. Everyone gets along well, most employees have worked together for several years. We utilize our techs as much as possible and encourage them to use the skills they've learned in tech school- technicians do primarily tech work- phlebotomy, tech appts, iv cath placement, monitoring anesthesia, and other procedures and therapies.
We are looking for someone with a willingness to learn and grow. We are happy to train someone that may not have all the skills or a lot of hands-on experience as long as you are motivated and an independent worker.
We offer a wide variety of modalities and therapies for our clients/patients including orthopedic surgeries, endoscopy, ultrasound, laser therapy, oncology and more.
We are not Fear Free certified but try to incorporated as many techniques as possible when handling our patients.

Responsibilities
Physical Requirements:
The veterinary technician must have the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds and over 50 pounds with a coworker.
The veterinary technician must be able to endure sitting, standing and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods of time.
The veterinary technician must possess sufficient ambulatory skills to perform duties while in hospital environment.
The veterinary technician must be able to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment that can be moderately high.
The veterinary technician will be routinely exposed to a variety of pets that may bite or scratch, and on occasion, exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medication/controlled substances.
The veterinary technician must have good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate equipment.
Qualifications
Major Duties:
Our Veterinary Technicians are responsible for in-patient medical care- administer medications, assist or perform treatments, diagnostics & monitoring, place IV catheters, draw blood, run lab tests, administer IV fluids, cleaning, feeding, and walking patients as needed.
Anesthesia/Surgery
Dentistry- Our Veterinary Technician's provide patient dental care, ultrasonic cleaning and polishing, assist doctor with dental surgery.
Radiology
Laboratory duties- Our Veterinary Technician's are responsible for collecting, preparing, & running or submitting samples for requested tests; reading and recording results when indicated (fecals, Urines, Ear cytology etc) when requested by doctor.
Preparing invoices, discharge instructions, and client informational tools
Client communication for hospitalized patients - give patient updates, discharge instructions, and provide follow up for certain hospital patients.
Client medical demonstrations / education - teach/educate clients on at home care procedures.
Veterinary Technician appointments- blood draws for therapeutic monitoring / screening tests, bandage changes, post-op checks, suture removals, AG, TNT.
Clinic technician- assisting doctor with outpatient appointments, preparing, restocking, cleaning exam room, check patients in and out, take history and vitals, input data into patient medical record, ensure a smooth and timely flow of outpatient appointments from check-in to discharge.
Assist with reception/front desk duties as needed- answering phones, booking appointments, admit/discharge patients.
Assist in training and mentoring new team members.
Assist with inventory control - informing inventory manager when products are getting low/out, unpacking, restocking drug & medical supplies.
Preparing prescriptions - dispensed medications & medication refills.
