All Weather Wood is hiring for a Licensed Treaters! This position starts at an hourly rate of $30.65 and offers full benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision and 401K matching.
Allweather Wood is the largest producer and distributor of waterborne preservative treated wood products in the Western USA. Operating six wood preserving plants in California, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, these state-of-the-art facilities enable year-round production of a variety of preservative systems, fire retardants and wood species, including Douglas-fir, Hem fir, and Southern Yellow Pine. With support from two full-service distribution centers in California, Allweather Wood partners with home improvement retailers, lumberyards, and building material dealers to bring a full range of preservative and fire-retardant lumber and plywood products to market.
This position treats lumber to the required specifications, ensuring quality of product is maintained. Operates a forklift in a safe and productive manner.
Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Treats lumber to the required specifications.
Operates a forklift in a safe and productive manner
Operate a fork lift to load carts and stack finished lumber.
Provide oversight for the retort/treating cylinders during the wood treatment process.
Place bunks to maximize dripping efficiency.
Prepare units of lumber for processing in the treating cylinder.
Monitor stock of chemicals and inform supervisor as necessary.
Maintain carts and pumps.
Wash and sweeps the floors and tracks.
Work to maintain quality control over the treated products as appropriate.
Document and retain records.
Tag material
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Minimum of three months related experience and/or training.
Must maintain and carry a valid Washington state issued treating license.
Must be capable of obtaining forklift certification.
Must maintain and carry a valid driver license and remain eligible and capable of operating company vehicles in accordance with company policy guidelines.
Basic knowledge of the lumber track system.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.
Basic Algebra and Geometry
Must have the ability to view a computer screen with use of a keyboard.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and communicate.
The employee frequently is required to sit and stand. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must have the ability to view a computer screen with use of a keyboard.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Repetitive wrist/hand motions while operating a forklift.
Will regularly work in or around warehouse or production areas, exposed to inclement weather conditions, wet and sometimes hazardous chemicals.
Noise can be moderate to loud when outside of the office area(s).
Protective clothing, reflective vest, safety glasses, rubber gloves, Haz-mat steel toe rubber boots, hearing protection are required in the treating area.
