Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must maintain a valid New York State license and registration to practice Psychology.

Duties Description *Please note, the posted Hiring Salary of $137,875 includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 25 ($95,530), along with any special salary treatments in effect for this position in this location, such as increased Hiring Rate ($24,345) and a Geographic Differential ($20,000).
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Licensed Psychologist will be providing clinical supervision to a team of psychologist and manage their clinical duties with Capital District DDSO. The incumbent will provide a full range of evidenced-informed psychological services, providing training and consultation services to the clinical teams, direct support staff, individuals, and management as needed, and serving on local and statewide committees/workgroups as needed. The Licensed Psychologist will participate in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of psychological programs and services.
The duties include but are not limited to the following:
Maintain knowledge and understanding of OPWDD policies and procedures. Review ADM's, Protocols, Policies and Procedures as released and ensure implementation.
Attend licensed psychologist planning meetings to discuss and attend to psychology department needs.
Provide clinical supervision to master's level psychologists.
Participate in local and statewide committees such as Human Rights Committee, Informed Consent Committee, Local Forensic Advisory Committee, and Statewide Forensic Advisory Committee
Develop department trainings and facilitate workgroups as needed.
Assist the Chief and Principal Psychologists with reviewing and processing psychology department requests including but not limited to team consultations, progress reports, and assessments for end of life decisions and competency
Conduct various psychological assessments including but not limited to intelligence, adaptive behavior, and risk mitigation include suicide and forensic assessments.
Attend and participate in psychology department meetings.
Foster effective collaboration and communication with individuals, families, and Care Coordination Organizations
Provide counseling services as needed, including group and individual through the Article 16 clinic.
Travel/site visits to programs will be required.
Provide direct psychology coverage, if needed due to vacancies
Have proficient computer skills including use of databases, spreadsheets, and Microsoft products such as Word, TEAMS, and SharePoint.
Additional tasks/duties/projects as assigned.

Additional Comments ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
If you are hired under the HELPS Program, you will be first be appointed as a temporary employee. In May 2024, if you are performing successfully in the position, your appointment will be changed from temporary to permanent non-competitive. Once you are in permanent status, your official probationary period will begin and you may take any promotion exam for which you are qualified.
At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), employees hired under NY HELPS are expected to have their permanent non-competitive employment status converted to permanent competitive status. You will not have to take an exam to gain permanent competitive status.

CAPA: Must be cleared by the NYS Central Register for Child Abuse and Maltreatment, if position requires working with minors and not previously cleared.
