Salary Range: $23.00 - $26.45 Hourly
If you have preschool programming childcare and teaching experience and would enjoy leading a small team, then Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has a role for you as a Licenced Preschool Lead Teacher at Bitter Lake Community Center. This is a year-round, full-time position starting immediately.
ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities. In this role, Licenced Preschool Lead Teacher will lead groups of children through fun, creative, safe, and welcoming activities for children to learn, play and grow during our before and after-school program.
Location: Bitter Lake Community Center
Schedule:
Full-time, non-exempt, up to 30 hr/week position during the school-year; may work summers as well
Monday-Friday 8:30am-2:30pm for up to 30 hours per week
Licenced Preschool Lead Teacher Responsibilities:
Leads daily curriculum activities with a classroom of children ages 3-5 years old
Models appropriate behavior and provides opportunities for social and emotional growth
Ensures a ratio of 1:10 (staff to children) is maintained as much as possible to ensure that children are safe and accounted for
Mentors and leads School-age Childcare Counselors and to the Associated Recreation Council School-age Director
Licenced Preschool Lead Teacher Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or olde
Seattle Preschool Programs (SPP) requires a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Early Childhood Education (ECE) or
A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college and verified as "approved" in MERIT AND 30 or more approved quarter credits in ECE, verified through MERIT. Up to 10 credits may be classified as ECE-School Age hybrid ("E/S") credits
At least two years of experience working with children between the ages of 3-5 years old in a preschool setting
One-year experience implementing curriculum activities with a large group of children
