We have an opening for a Full-time Licensed Practical (Vocational) Nurse (LPN/LVN) to work with our Employer Health Clinic located in Maryville, TN

Summary:
This LPN will work with our Primary Care employer Health Clinic located in Maryville. The hours for this role are Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm and Tuesday, Thursday from 7am-4pm with a 1-hour break for lunch. Ideally seeking candidates with a background working in primary care or internal medicine.

Essential Functions:

  • Interviews patient to determine medical problem/condition and documents in chart for physician.

  • Obtains and records patient's vital signs and weight.

  • Assists physician with patient examination as needed.

  • Reviews physician's orders, lab requests, or follow-up needs with patient.

  • Documents services performed on appropriate forms.

  • Dresses wounds as instructed. Applies compresses, ice and heat packs.

  • Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to medical personnel in charge.

  • Administers specified medication, orally or by subcutaneous or intermuscular injection, and notes time and amount on patients' charts.

  • Assembles and uses clinic equipment.

  • Collects samples, such as urine, blood, and sputum, from patients for testing and performs routine laboratory tests on samples.

  • Sterilizes equipment and supplies.

  • Cleans rooms and changes linens.

  • Maintains supplies, including stocking and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies.

  • Responds to patient or client telephone inquiries by evaluating and responding to the patient's/clients problems and questions.

  • Follows up with patients who miss appointments.

  • Follows up with patients on lab results, including the scheduling of any additional tests.

  • Coordinates referrals for patients through insurance and other physician offices.

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Graduate of National League for Nursing accredited program, Associate's degree (A.S.) and/or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.

  • Licensed as a Practical or Vocational Nurse

  • Current hands on Certification in Basic Life Support is required, Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on scope of contract services.

Experience:

  • At least three years of clinical experience as a LPN/LVN in an ambulatory care, occupational health, or emergency department setting.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge about workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations.

  • Strong computer skills (Internet software, spreadsheet, word processing etc.) preferred.

  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.

If so, we are currently seeking a qualified and motivated professional for the following position: LPN (Part Time) - Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center (BHUCC). SUMMARY The LPN (Full Time) - Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center serves as a clinical member of the multi-disciplinary team, providing treatment, rehabilitation, and support for client population. The LPN must be adept at multi-tasking. They will provide direct medical care to clients, including clients in varying levels of crisis, and will frequently work with SPMI and clients with co-occurring issues. They will assist with crisis interventions and medical emergencies, obtain vital signs each shift or more frequently as indicated. They administer intramuscular injections, communicate with PCPs during intake and discharge phases, and liaison with other agencies as indicated. The LPN is responsible for triaging referrals, completing intake/assessments on all clients admitted during their shift, obtaining urine drug screens and pregnancy tests on admissions, obtaining admission orders, dispensing routine and PRN meds, taking off orders from prescriber and updating MAR, completing electronic and paper charting in a timely manner and participating in treatment team meetings. Additionally, the LPN may take calls from recently discharged clients requesting bridging prescription, follow-up calls on weekends on discharged clients, obtain prior authorizations and coordinate with pharmacies. The LPN collaborates with Mobile Crisis assisting with BHUCC client ' s being referred to higher level of care, completing S-BARs. The LPN ' s schedule requires rotating weekends. Regular attendance is an essential job function. This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business. Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a condition of employment. REQUIREMENTS Education/Knowledge: A licensed LPN with a current Tennessee license. Experience in psychiatric nursing is preferred. LPN certification as Psychiatric / Mental Health Nurse is preferred. Should have sound knowledge of psychiatric medications, diagnoses, treatment modalities, and interventions. Must have an ability to use a computer. Experience: Experience in psychiatric nursing preferred. Experience in working with special populations including individuals with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness, Co-Occurring Disorders, and Dual Diagnosis Disorders preferred. Computer experience is helpful. Experience working in a crisis setting preferred. Applicants should possess the ability to relate to individuals and families of varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ages, educational levels, and economic circumstances with respect and dignity. Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills are necessary in order to work effectively and collaboratively with clients, collaborating agencies, and community professionals, as well as maintaining proper documentation. Physical: Exposure to biological hazards. Hearing of normal and soft tones as well as close eye work. Frequent exposure to unpleasant odors. Valid driver ' s license. Lifting up to 50 lbs. To ensure the safety of the clients and staff, this position requires certification in and adequate implementation of verbal and physical de-escalation techniques (Handle with Care) that include a wide range of bodily movements including but not limited to grasping, holding another person, going down on knees, running, and walking. COMPENSATION: Salary range for this position starts at approximately $16.73 per hour depending on relevant experience and education. Shift differential is applied at the following percentages based on shift: 2nd shift has a 5% differential, 3rd shift has a 10% differential.
